Meet The Specialists

Chynna M. Dubuclet, M.A.

Chynna M. Dubuclet has her Master’s degree and is currently in Northern Illinois University’s Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. Her major areas of clinical and research interest include child development, parenting, and trauma. She graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in African American diaspora studies. Chynna has provided evidence-based treatments and conducted psychological assessments with clients across the lifespan at NIU’s Psychological Services Center. She has also provided evidence-based interventions for children with selective mutism through Advanced Therapeutic Solutions’ Adventure Camp and Winter Adventure.

Chynna’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the cognitive-behavioral framework, and she has utilized associated evidence-based treatments including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and exposure and response prevention. Additionally, she considers the systems that clients exist in (e.g., school, home, extracurriculars) when considering the course of treatment. Chynna has experience treating and diagnosing anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma-based disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

Chynna is looking forward to providing evidence-based, goal-focused treatments tailored to meet the needs of clients and their families. In her free time, Chynna enjoys walks in nature, finding new places to eat, and hanging with family and friends.
