Meet The Specialists

Susan Myket, Ph.D.

Dr. Susan Myket, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, received her Ph.D. from Northern Illinois University’s Clinical Psychology Program and completed her Pediatric Postdoctoral Fellowship at Linden Oaks Hospital at Edward. Dr. Myket went on to develop the Anxiety Treatment Program for the hospital, as well as an Anxiety Clinic in a local private practice before starting Susan Myket, Ph.D. & Associates.

Before completing her professional training in the States, Dr. Myket worked in Zimbabwe with children, teens, and families in crisis. She has also worked in schools, research centers, child development clinics, and residential facilities. Dr. Myket is interested in the variety of issues that children, adolescents, and adults come to see her about. Some of these include anxiety, OCD, school avoidance, depression, grief, parenting, oppositional defiance, anger, ADHD, eating disorders, hair-pulling/skin-picking disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and adjustment difficulties. She is also a Certified Integrated Behavior Care Specialist and works closely with medical doctors to address physical problems that have an emotional impact (e.g., chronic illness/pain, asthma, sleep problems) or require changes in behavior (e.g., diabetes, obesity). Dr. Myket is also certified in Family Reunification Therapy. Reunification Therapy is an intensive practice with the goal of rebuilding trust and connection between parents and children.  

Adept at research-supported assessments and therapies, Dr. Myket consistently strives to deliver expert treatment with a caring and individualized approach. Her professional memberships include the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, the APA Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, Beyond OCD, Illinois Psychological Association, the National Eating Disorders Association, and Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact. An avid reader, she enjoys outdoor activities in nature, cooking and baking, being involved in her church, and playing sports with her family.
