Rachel Hughes, Psy.D.

Dr. Rachel Hughes holds a Bachelor’s Degree from California Baptist University, a Master’s Degree from Azusa Pacific University, and a Doctorate Degree from Azusa Pacific University. She has experience treating a range of people from diverse backgrounds. She typically works with children, adolescents, and young adults. She has extensive experience conducting psychological and neuropsychological assessments across the lifespan, including Autism Spectrum, ADHD, and childhood disorders. Most of her experience has a trauma treatment component (specifically child abuse and sexual assault) and includes working with a wide range of childhood and adolescent diagnoses and symptoms.

Dr. Hughes approaches assessment and  therapy from an attachment and interpersonal theory perspective. This means she looks at patterns from an individual’s early caregivers, as well as current interpersonal interactions, and utilizes these to understand an individual’s current presentation and distress, while providing insight to support change. In addition to her clinical evaluation and therapy work, Dr. Hughes is passionate about professional development and regularly provides clinical supervision for other clinicians, helping them refine their therapeutic and diagnostic skills.

Outside of work, Dr. Hughes enjoys watching sports, reading, and attending concerts. Whenever possible, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, cultures, and foods.
