Meet The Specialists
Joey Droll, M.A. received his Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, where he is currently completing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He double-majored in Psychology and Political Science at North Central College. Joey’s clinical experience includes working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, a private practice, and for a nationwide crisis line. He has worked with diverse children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of formats, including psychological testing, individual therapy, and group therapy. These experiences have given Joey a unique perspective on the different needs each individual brings to treatment.
Joey strongly believes in creating a safe and inclusive space for all clients to feel welcomed and respected. By utilizing a collaborative therapeutic approach, he walks alongside clients and families to assist them in reaching their goals. Joey skillfully draws from a range of evidence-based models, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, to tailor treatment to clients’ specific needs. He uses a strengths-based approach to champion things that his clients are doing well, and to give them additional tools to address areas where growth is possible.
Joey is eager to help individuals, families, and groups develop abilities to overcome a range of emotional health concerns. He has particular experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and identity formation. Joey values building a strong working relationship with his clients and watching them reach their full potential. In his free time, he enjoys both playing and watching sports, video games, and going on new adventures with his partner and their dog Zeke.
