She graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in counseling. Joanna has provided evidence-based treatments and conducted psychological assessments at NIU’s Psychological Services Center. She has also provided evidence-based interventions for children with selective mutism through Advanced Therapeutic Solutions’ Adventure Camp, Winter Adventure, Courage Clubs, and peer sessions. Joanna has additionally assisted with Teen Anxiety & Depression groups at the practice and is excited to return to Susan Myket, Ph.D. & Associates as an Assessment Extern.

Joanna’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the cognitive-behavioral framework, and she has utilized associated evidence-based treatments including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and exposure and response prevention. She additionally considers each client as a whole individual, therefore taking into account an individual’s strengths and contexts (e.g., home, school) in her assessments and recommendations. Joanna has experience treating and diagnosing anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.

As an Assessment Extern at Susan Myket, Ph.D. & Associates, Joanna is looking forward to providing comprehensive psychological assessments for children and teenagers. In her free time, Joanna enjoys exploring with her dog, spending time with family and friends, and playing board games.
