Meet The Specialists
Donna Bartlett, Licensed Social Worker, has worked with adolescents and families since 1993. She had been employed by DuPage County as a truant officer for over 15 years and worked with the court system and school system during that time. She is currently employed at Linden Oaks Hospital as a school liaison, for the past 8 years, so continues to advocate for kids in the school system. She is very well versed in special education systems such as IEP and 504 plans.
Donna has earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis University, Masters of Art in Teaching from National Louis University and obtained her Masters in Social Work from Aurora University. Donna has recently been certified in Gottman Level I for couples counseling.
Donna is comfortable working with all clients and brings compassion, dignity and humor for feels that everyone deserves help. Donna is comfortable working with school personnel and will advocate for her clients whenever necessary.
Working from a strength and systems perspective, Donna utilizes cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques and also utilizes pragmatic approaches to problem-solving and therapy. Her years in working with adolescents and families in the court system, school system and hospital setting can be invaluable for families and adolescents, as she continues to understand the challenges that teens and their families face on a daily basis and how social media can be a factor in some of those challenges. Donna continues to advocate and strives to help, especially teens, take ownership of their lives by helping them strengthen their self –awareness, decision making and their abilities to socially interact with their peers and others.
Donna is married and has two sons that keep her busy. She is an avid Cubs fan, loves watching her own sons play sports and other activities, values her time with family and friends. She enjoys working out, reading a good book and going to many baseball games!
