Meet The Specialists
Cassandra Mick is a graduate student at Northern Illinois University in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. Cassandra received her master’s degree in child studies from Vanderbilt University in May of 2019. She previously worked as a Behavior Specialist at Rogers Behavioral Health – Nashville. Cassandra currently works in the Psychological Services Center at Northern Illinois University providing evidence-based treatment for a variety of mental health concerns and conducting psychological assessments.
Cassandra’s therapeutic approach is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy but integrates other evidence-based treatments including dialectical behavior therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. She believes that parents and families are an integral part of the treatment team and involves them as needed to ensure the most sustainable therapeutic change. Cassandra has experience treating and assessing obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Continuing her clinical training as an Assessment Extern at Susan Myket, Ph.D. & Associates, Cassandra is excited to provide diagnostic and assessment services to children and adults. In her free time, Cassandra enjoys attending local festivals, spending time with her dog, and traveling to new places.
